Clarification on the last post

Hi all. Just to clarify on the latest post (since it’s become clear to me that a couple of people didn’t realise): it’s actually 2000-plus words long and will be available for every subscriber, paid and free, to read from early tomorrow evening (you’ll receive another notification when it is). I decided to pop it up behind a temporary paywall just for 24 hours as a little thank you to the people who have taken out paid subscriptions for this page, since it really helps so much to allow me to write more about a wider range of subjects.

Incidentally, the piece came about as a result of me saying to myself on Sunday while on a spooky Cornish walk, “How can I find a way of writing something about a few of the 100s of scarecrow photos I’ve taken on walks over the years and make it challenging and a bit unusual?” and also thinking about the way men sometimes communicate with one another, or fail to. I had great fun writing it.
